5. Butyrylcholinesterase as a marker of persistent cancer:
The invention generally relates to a strategy or method of detecting and diagnosing
persistent cancer that results in low-grade systemic inflammation as seen in lymphomas, leukemias; and other disorders in which cell proliferation and angiogenesis plays a
dominant role and which are also characterized by low-grade systemic inflammation. The present invention relates to a strategy or method of detecting, diagnosing, and
prognosticating all the above-mentioned conditions using plasma and/or tissue levels of butyrylcholinesterase as a marker of these diseases.
6. Butyrylcholinesterase as a marker of collagen vascular
diseases: The invention generally relates to a strategy or method of detecting and
diagnosing acute and chronic low-grade systemic inflammatory conditions such as
rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), progressive systemic
sclerosis (PSS), mixed connective tissue disorder (MCTD), vasculitis; glomerulonephritis secondary to underlying systemic diseases such as collagen vascular diseases, in which
cell proliferation and angiogenesis plays a dominant role and which are also characterized by low-grade systemic inflammation. Development of a reliable, unique and specific
marker for these conditions is essential. The present invention relates to a strategy or method of detecting, diagnosing, and prognosticating all the above-mentioned conditions
using plasma and/or tissue levels of butyrylcholinesterase as a marker.
7. Butyrylcholinesterase as a Marker of Low-grade
Systemic Inflammation: The invention generally relates to a strategy or
method of detecting and diagnosing low-grade systemic inflammatory conditions such as
insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hyperlipidemias, and Alzheimer's disease using plasma and/or tissue levels of butyrylcholinesterase as a
marker. The present invention relates to a strategy or method of detecting, diagnosing, and prognosticating all the above-mentioned conditions using plasma and/or tissue levels
of butyrylcholinesterase as a marker.

8. Method of Prevention and Treatment of Pathological
Retinal Angiogenesis: The invention generally relates to a strategy or method
of preventing and treatment of pathological retinal angiogenesis that occurs in diseases
such as retinopathy of prematurity in children, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related
macular degeneration in which cell proliferation and angiogenesis plays a dominant role by the use of a specific monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies against vascular endothelial
growth factor (VEGF) that is coupled to polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) such as eicosapentaenoic acid, docosahexaenoic acid, and their products lipoxins, resolvins and
neuroprotectins. More particularly, the invention is directed to the efficacious use of therapeutic monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies in the treatment of pathological retinal
angiogenesis. In principle, the present invention describes a method of effectively using monoclonal antibodies or specific polyclonal antibodies against vascular endothelial
growth factor to prevent and treat the destructive angiogenesis that occurs in the eye seen in pathological conditions such as retinopathy of prematurity in children, diabetic
retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration to ameliorate by directly inhibiting neovascularization and/or by controlling vessel loss in order to reduce the hypoxic stimulus
that drives neovascularization

Journal, Elsevier Publishers ISSN 0306-9877, IMPACT FACTOR 1.299 (Medical
Hypotheses takes a deliberately different approach to peer review. Most contemporary practice tends to
discriminate against radical ideas that conflict with current theory and practice. Medical Hypotheses will
publish radical ideas, so long as they are coherent and clearly expressed. Furthermore, traditional peer review
can oblige authors to distort their true views to satisfy referees, and so diminish authorial responsibility and
accountability. In Medical Hypotheses, the authors' responsibility for the integrity, precision and accuracy of
their work is paramount. The editor sees his role as a 'chooser', not a 'changer': choosing to publish what are
judged to be the best papers from those submitted. Medical Hypotheses is indexed and abstracted in:

in Health and Disease IMPACT
FACTOR 1.38 (Lipids in Health and Disease is an Open Access, peer-reviewed, online journal that
publishes articles on all aspects of lipids: their biochemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, role in health and
disease, and the synthesis of new lipid compounds. Lipids in Health and Disease is aimed at all scientists,
health professionals and physicians interested in the area of lipids. Lipids are defined here in their broadest
sense, to include: cholesterol, essential fatty acids, saturated fatty acids, phospholipids, inositol lipids, second
messenger lipids, enzymes and synthetic machinery that is involved in the metabolism of various lipids in the
cells and tissues, and also various aspects of lipid transport, etc. In addition, the journal also publishes
research that investigates and defines the role of lipids in various physiological processes, pathology and
disease. In particular, the journal aims to bridge the gap between the bench and the clinic by publishing
articles that are particularly relevant to human diseases and the role of lipids in the management of various
diseases. The emerging field of Lipids is expected to have a significant impact in the future of health care.
Lipids form an important constituent of all cell membranes, and cellular constituents, and as such they have a
profound influence on the interaction of the cell with its immediate environment and the way the messages are
received and processed by cells in the body. By regulating cell membrane structure and function, lipids are
known to influence the actions of various hormones, peptides and drugs. At present, there is no single forum
that publishes all the aspects of research on lipids. Lipids in Health and Disease tries to fill this vacuum.
Further, by emphasizing the clinical relevance of the work on Lipids, the journal aims to bridge the gap
between the lab and the clinic. Tracked/indexed by

published on behalf of Association of Physicians of India (API) which has approximately 13,000 memberships
consisting of consultant physicians and specialists in various branches of internal medicine. They are
considered as trend setters in prescribing habits in the country. JAPI has an excellent track record of regular
publication for past 52 years and it will soon celebrate its 53rd year. The journal publishes peer reviewed
scientific articles. It is extremely popular amongst its readers. The readership of JAPI is currently 200,000,
which is rapidly increasing and is expected to double in next 5 years. For practising physicians the journal
serves as an important source of updating themselves which helps them in the state of art practice of
medicine. For academicians it is an important literature source on various subjects of topical importance
including drug trials.

that may alter the disease concept of a tumor. The Journal will not publish case reports that describe a rare tumor or condition without new findings to be added to previous reports; combination of different tumors without new
suggestive findings for oncological research; remarkable effect of already known treatments without suggestive data to explain the exceptional result. The following subject categories are covered: carcinogenesis, tumor biology

REVIEW TOPIC OF THE WEEK Behavioral Cardiology Current Advances and Future Directions Alan Rozanski, MD Growing epidemiological evidence identifies key domains relevant to behavioral cardiology, including health behaviors, emotions, mental mindsets, stress management, social connectedness, and a sense of purpose. Each of these domains exists along a continuum, ranging from positive factors that promote health, to negative factors, which are
